Student - Life Long LearnerI was born and raised in Michigan. My “college days” took me to Minnesota, Germany, and Ohio. I received a Bachelor of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Martin Luther College. I am a classically trained organist. I have a Master of Music degree from Mankato State University and have completed all coursework for a Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Performance and Arts Administration at the University of Cincinnati. Currently I am completing a Master of Arts in Adult Education and Distance Learning with UOP Online.
Educator - Life Long LearnerAs an educator, I taught special education at the middle school and high school levels with certification in both social-emotional disorders and learning disabilities. At the middle school level, I taught gifted education and vocal music. At the high school level I taught math and computer applications. I have served as adjunct faculty at various colleges and universities since 1992. My current fulltime position is Information Specialist for a two schools 35 miles west of downtown Chicago. Here I focus on helping educators use technology in creative and resourceful ways and work closely with school administration to design effective professional development. I am an instructor for the University of Phoenix as well as facilitate for University of Phoenix Chicagoland Campuses, where I am also the Area Chair for Humanities. I greatly enjoy teaching and learning through all three modalities. “I love to learn – I learn best by teaching!”
